Urban Tree Service Donates Labor and Time to Strawbery Banke
Urban Tree Service/A Tree Health Company, Inc. located in Rochester, NH recently donated labor and time to the historic property of Strawbery Banke located in Portsmouth, NH.
An opportunity sponsored by the NH Arborists Association, Urban Tree Service was one of three local businesses that donated arborists' talents on October 17 to complete aggressive pruning of overgrown trees and shrubs around the complex. More specifically, pruning efforts helped to increase the amount of sunlight exposure to the property's organic garden.
"Three trucks and five arborists spent the better half of a day working on this amazing, historical property. It's a fun challenge to know that the work you are doing is representative of how the property presented itself in the 17th to the mid-20th centuries," said Ed Hopkins, President of Urban Tree Service/A Tree Health Company, Inc.
Hopkins added, "Strawbery Banke is a significant historical location and an integral landmark in Portsmouth, important to the history of the area. Early American history is one of my passions."
Urban Tree Service has done work on the Strawbery Banke property in the past as well as other historical properties including Hamilton House, Warner House, Moffatt Ladd House, Wentworth House and Wentworth-Gardner House.
